So I attempted to DIE my hair with a turquoise semipermanent dye
Trying out just dying the ends, and without bleaching for now.

I like it, allthough it washed out alot after like... 1 wash... And it wasn't a particularly vibrant colour to begin with...

Gonna let it wash out completely, bleach, then try again.
Any 1 got any hair dying pro tips I might have missed on google?

I did actually do a few different colors in my hair before, and the biggest tip I can give you is: Flashy colors never stay in for long. Red's the only I've been able to keep for a while and that turned pink after a month anyways.

Try washing your hair without shampoo and conditioner for two weeks before applying the color. The silicone and oils in the products tend to shield the hair from the color. Bleach the hair right before the color, to mess up your hair's scales and open them up. Rinse the bleach out, apply color and wait again. Once done, rinse like a champion and use both the conditioner from the bleach and the color. If possible, buy colored shampoo to use later and / or some Stargazer color matching your hair to use as conditioner.

This is around 2 weeks after the coloring, and it's pretty close to the original. A bit paler, but nothing too wrong. It was a bit redder before, but the orange hue sort of worked fine too

With brown or red hair, you actually need to die your hair black BEFORE you bleach it. If you bleach as the first step, it will turn your hair into an orange mess. If you don't want to do this, you'll need to buy blue and yellow (ash blonde) powder to cancel out the red and yellow undertones

If he blacks the hair and then bleaches it, I'm guessing the bleached result would look very green and weird? At least it turned weird for my ex, who bleached her black hair to get her natural blonde back.

And if you use 12% bleach, you'll turn platinum with one round. At least I did, and I've got black Asian hair, which is usually insanely hard to bleach
