What's Your Irrational Fear/Hate?

Sports, politics, movies, videogames, questionable hobbies, photos from your family vacation, etc. Talk about stuff that isn't ponies or music. But do try to stay on topic and respectful of alternate opinions.

People who have these cynical-ass outlook on politics and anybody with power, as if they think that the people with power in the US are on a quest to breakdown everything and suppress the lower classes and all this other awful shit. A decent example, some guy posted a video and it got some media hate attention of a police officer video, skip to 3:00 and everybody is all like fuck-da-police and stuff, even though the officer's actions were justified. Real life isn't a movie, people. Just because somebody is in a position of power doesn't mean that they're going to abuse that power, and moreover, just because one grape on the vine is sour regard, doesn't mean that they all are

Oh, and one more: The assholes who bash on the rich, or anybody who can afford a nice car. I don't care if the rich person's car cost him $300,000 but your $15000 Honda can do everything that their Rolls-Royce can, or if you think that $500,000 on that brand new ferrari is too much to spend since that person is only going to be spending a small amount of time in the car, they more than likely worked damn hard to get to their social position, and I'll be damned if people are just going to tell them that they can't have the luxuries that they can afford simply because you can't afford them. Grow up and accept that the rich will have luxuries and the lower classes won't have anything as luxurious as them.

As somebody who's never owned a credit card and has absolutely no debt, ~ $35,000 in investments, and $20,000 in savings, I can definitely agree with you there.

It's the same sense of entitlement that causes people to go into debt in the first place. "I NEED that TV NOW!!!" and then they put $1,000 onto their credit card, end up paying it off over 5 years for a total of $2,500, and then get angry at people who save up for 5 years and buy a bigger, better $2,500 TV.

Sort of off-topic, but for all of you who are going into the adult world soon:
- Never get a credit card. (Bank check cards offer the same protection as credit cards for purchases and fraud protection)
- Stay out of debt entirely. If it's unavoidable (ex. car), set it up so you pay it off in as short of a time possible.
- Use a budget.
- Start building an emergency fund that can cover rent/utilities/food for 6 months.
- Don't touch that emergency fund except for emergencies, and if you do have an emergency, build it back up asap.
- Assuming you've done all the above, you'll likely have extra money at the end of each month. Don't just let extra money sit around doing nothing. Tell that extra money to work for you and make more money, by investing in mutual funds, stocks, etc.
- If you become a millionaire or billionaire, consider sending some extra cash towards Navron for giving you awesome advice :D

I get that people who act as though the world owes them something are kind of daft, but just because a lot of rich people work hard doesn't mean that a lot of poor people don't. The difference is, rich people work hard to get/stay rich, whereas poor people work hard to not die. Besides, nobody gets by entirely off their own back and pretending that they never had advantages or opportunities because of the circumstances they were born into is naive. Accepting that some people are rich and some are poor is one response to that, but it's not the only response. But yeah, I don't like the train of thought that says that just because some people in the world are suffering, you can't have fun or enjoy your life. There's a balance.

Not to derail the thread to much, but as someone who is fairly well off and who went to school with the super rich on three different continents (well I guess it was only the quite well off for one of those continents), there is a lot to hate about them. Especially the more dynastic rich people.

More irrational hatred. Rain. Stupid Rain.

I'm scared to learn new things with other people because I'm scared of looking stupid in front of them. Not really a big help for music production :'D

I believe I might have some sort of mild phonophobia. (fear of loud sounds) For some reason it only has effect if someone else is making loud noises, if I do it myself it doesn't bug me as much. It's not an active fear like most phobias but I have a significantly different reaction to loud sounds than most people. (Cold sweat, hyperventilation, etc)

I also am kinda shy and hate being in large groups (more than 10 or 15 people) of people that I don't know.

The ironic thing about all that is that I generally make loud angry music.
Producing mediocre drum and bass since 2012.

Scarily, it's exactly the same with me.
Though I don't see the fear of loud sounds thing a phobia really... Not with myself, I mean.
It's more of a sensitivity, I think, which is the downside of having absolute hearing, what I have. Sure, it can be useful, but for the most part, it's horrible.

And for the record, I don't mind loud noise when it's an element in the music I'm listening to.
I make loud music too, and I don't mind that a bit.

And I don't like big groups either. Whatever the conversation is, be it something that I love, music production for example, if I got tons of people surrounding me, I always start sweating profusely when I say a tiny thing that pulls the attention of everyone around me to me. Whatever it is that I'm saying. However small. I feel horrible.

Also I kinda hate the royal family. They don't really...y'know do much more than the average non-royal wealthy family would do. They're at the head of a god damn commonwealth of countries and they just sit around and let parliament do all the work.
