First Vulpvibe song you heard?

Postby Mondogreen » 16 May 2013 22:21

Why not. I'm half in the bag and want to listen to Renard's golden years at Vulpvibe. So what was the first song you heard by him.

New track in the works!!

DAW: Sony Acid Pro 6
VSTi: NI Massive 1.3
Plugins: Not many

You don't need a cabinet full of cleaners to make a sick track

Hmm, well I'd say it was Avast Your Ass, from all the non-Fluttershy remixes back when it was just the song getting mixed into TF2 vids.. After that, I looked for the original and fell in love with his whole discography.

Can't remember. His stuff was way too saccharine for my taste, at first, so the first few times I stumbled across him, the songs went over my head and all that really stayed with me was how surreal the concept was (as in, someone writing music through a bunch of fursonae). When I started enjoying him more I'd listen to like 20 songs in one go on YouTube then stop. Would've been either FIAB or Renard though.

It's Renard's old label name, before it became Lapfox. The tracks he put on his old label were classic tracks, and he continues on making great music.

Hmm... I guess the first Renard song I ever heard was "Intensive Care Unit".

I don't really listen to Renard, question however, why does it seem like Renard is VERY popular? Would it fall under the fact that (from the looks of it) he's a furry? Correct me if I'm wrong.

I have no idea what's Renard and who's Lapfox, sorry. I doubt many bronies are into furry stuff.

I reckon a lot of people start listening because of the "hey geek references, sometimes. Sweet." and it's all downhill from there. I think for some music people the extra appeal is he manages to make a living off his music, whilst still essentially being a bedroom producer. Which is heartening.
(He's had a couple of brushes with the fandom, namely being the person who did the original version of Avast Your Ass, he's released a couple of pony related tracks in the past, and he's collabed with Futret)

He's popular because people like his music. People like his music because it's good. It's good because all he does is make music and play vidja gaems all day.

The way he set up his bandcamp is cool, the fact that he has a new release almost every month is cool, and the fact that he's found a way to do all this and still make enough money to have a house and multiple other hobbies is very cool.

Renard is great. I've loved his stuff for a while.

First Vulpvibe song I heard was probably "Sinisterrrrrrrr".

With the amount of pop culture references he does, I like to think of Renard as Ken Ashcorp on crack.

I never really liked Renard or his many aliases. Not that he's bad, I just don't think he's as good as people make him out to be. The first thing I heard of him was Rainbow Tylenol, and I did quite like that and Rock My Emotions. And then there was a much more recent thing called Arcade _____ (I don't remember) which I didn't think was too bad. But other than that I haven't really liked his stuff.

I'm pretty sure it'd be this one. This is the first album of his I remember listening to... I kinda forget how I found him at all, but I heard Avast Your Ass after the fact, so it wasn't that.

But after I grabbed a bunch of strictly-Renard releases from Vulpvibe, I started getting a little tired of how crazy it was (this was before I could really appreciate his style anyway), and stopped listening to him. But I got back into him when Vladnuke showed me the album Robot Brainstronaut Blastoff, which I ate up. Then I got addicted to The Queenstons, and here I am.

Dum Dum Diday!

I found this when I was just a small boy, who had just learnt to find stuff on the internet. Before it I had basically only listened to Hits for kids and the Hard Dance Mania albums, so vulpvibe was all very new music to me, and I loved it! I started looking for more tracks by the same person. Found Klippa eventually. Found Renard later, didn't like him at first, but tastes change, and now I love it all. I downloaded everything from his furryaffinity page and all free albums. At some point along the line I found out about furrys, and then I became one :o Bla bla bla.

Mayhem might be partially the reason why I love sharks so much... Idk.

Anyway... From the point I found Dum Dum Diday I have loved happy music with silly samples.
