We all love it, otherwise it's unlikely you'd be here. Talk about the show and the fanbase surrounding it. Brony music discussions encouraged.

First piece of MLP fan music you heard?

Postby Mesogears » 23 May 2013 17:51

I'm just curious as to what everyone hear found first.

For me (if I remember correctly), it was probably this one:

Or it might have been this one. Seriously, I can't remember which came first.

Alex S. - Party With Pinkie or PinkiePieSwear's Flutterwonder.. I can't remember I know it was one of the two.

I'm pretty sure it was Alex S. though as I was subscribed to him before he/I was a brony.

I'm pretty sure my first pony song was either "Rainbow Factory" or the original "Discord", though I can't really be certain.

^^That was one of the first ones I heard, too

It might also have been "Loyalty", as well

It was either Odyssey's Discord or Alex S's remix of 20 percent cooler.

On a side note, those tracks were the first edm songs I'd ever heard. Ah, good times.

Probably it was Balladshy by AcousticBrony. That's the first I remember of and it is also the earliest added in my pony itunes playlist.

This song makes me a bit teary whenever I hear it. It reminds me of back when bronies weren't known as perverted complaining hypocrites.

Going by my YouTube feed, I subbed to Tombstone first, but the first song I liked was "The Fear of Flight" by Aviators. So I'll go with that. "The Fear of Flight" was the first song I heard. I am listening to it as I type this. :)

I remember when I started listening to fan music and remixes, this was apparently a brand new song at the time that my friends were going nuts over.

Oh the memories.

it was probably this. Or maybe this (Alex seems to have deleted it. I could only find that and a terribly mastered 'fixed' version.).

I'm not much for Eurobeat, but this one is the exception. I like it mostly for the nostalgia for when I got into the fandom (not a really momentous occasion, but I made a lot of really good friends and I started listening to music more often and eventually started making it. I count it as a special time.).

As fan music? No.
But that was also another one I really loved back when I entered the fandom.

IIRC, it was either one of Acoustic Brony's tracks or Fluttershy's Lament, maybe Alex S.' Cutie Mark Crusaders remix (Which is still one of the only dubstep tracks I genuinely enjoy)

Sadly the very first was the Beatle Bronies first album which is pretty awful (a chunk of it just singing over the beatles instrumentals). But NACP's luna ep was the first music that really made me take note, got me interested in making music here too, and that i took seriously. Alex S, PPS, and Eurobeat soon followed. It's a shame almost all of that first wave of musicians are gone.

Flutterwonder by Pinkie Pie Swear. But I didn't know anything about the musicians until I watched the Beyond her Tomb PMV which got me looking for brony music which is how I found the musician derectory.

I have never listened much to Alex S. or The Living Tombstone, though I did listen to Omnivore and DJ Pon-3. It's probably the latter that I've listened to first. No idea which song, though, I think it was Drowned In Love.

It's not just a PMV, it's technically a remix as the music is sped up to sound like Rainbow Dash.

The first song from the fandom I found might have been this

or this

but I'm not sure. The first artist in the fandom I started following was AcousticBrony. I heard of them awhile before, but I wasn't really interested in them until I heard Loyalty.

I think it was Eurobeat Brony's Winter Wrap Up remix. From there I listened to the rest of EBB's stuff and discovered Luna (first non-remix track I heard), and then my friend sent me Alex S' remix, at which point I went on a massive fan music search and discovered all the other big players (WoodenToaster, PinkiePieSwear, etc).

Edit:

Holy mother of shit I'm listening to Luna right now and EVERY MEMORY IS COMING BACK AT ONCE

I had a lot of things from when I first got into that stuff, it was probably either something by Lulz or Glaze or maybe Eurobeat Brony. I can't actually tell what was put into my itunes first because everything got wiped awhile ago so I readded all my music at once. I might be able to see what the first thing I downloaded was... There are several songs, some by well known musicians and some by less known musicians, that comprised my pony fan music that bring back a load of feelings and memories from the time of my life when I was listening to them.
My goal is to be capable of making any kind of music that strikes my fancy, and do it well.

I don't remember what song specifically, but it was by Odyssey. I think it was one of his earlier songs, too. Non-vocal. (Though he only really has three or four vocal pony songs currently.)
