Playlist Challenge #1: Flutterrock/Fluttermetal

We all love it, otherwise it's unlikely you'd be here. Talk about the show and the fanbase surrounding it. Brony music discussions encouraged.

If there's not a metal band named Cesium I'm going to be disappointed.

There a band called Cesium_137 but they're futurepop, not metal.

We need an "if metals were metal bands" thread...

(Pretty much all of the actinides would have broken up by now.)

Francium was my favorite Grindcore group. What a crazy two weeks they had...

Does Iron Maiden count as a metal metal band?

Oh, and speaking of Enya and heavy metal, look at what I found: http://leahmusic.bandcamp.com/album/of-earth-angels

It's like a New Age/Symphonic Metal fusion. There is also a lot of Celtic influence in it too.

If you can imagine some combination of disparate music genres, you can find it somewhere on the internet.

Oh, yeah, especially if it ends in -core :P. I didn't actually find LEAH from searching for New Age Metal, I've actually known about her for quite awhile, I found her when looking for a metal cover of "Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence", and apparently she has like 26,000 likes on Facebook, which is quite a bit for an independent band. I didn't make the connection between her music and New Age until she sent a notice out.

Nah, Pinkie's that weird stuff you end up with that confuses people when they listen to your music collection. SiKth and Beefheart and Masonna and the Monks and suchlike.

Bumping because the actual playlist that this thread is supposed to be about is now like twice as large as when this was first posted.

I would LOVE to see more playlists like this for other charcters and genre scopes. Should we start a campaign?

Well I've just been managing this because I like Fluttershy and I like Rock, but that sounds like a neat idea.

Might just throw this into the mix, I reckon Fluttershy is metal when she wants to be metal. I'd say she'd be a fan of Coheed and Cambria, mostly their softer, more radio rock oriented stuff like Afterman, Feathers, Blood Red Summer, Pearl of the Stars, And maybe enjoying the bands first album Second Stage Turbine Blade

Also Dashie is major Punk rock. Probably a bigger fan of Modern punk rock like Sum 41, Green Day and Offspring. Whatever the band it would be upbeat and fast music she'd enjoy. There's no way Dash is not a hard rock and punk fan.

But yes. I support Flutterock/metal all the way. I could totally see her chilling to Slayer's Angel of Death Kiss and Van Halen, some of the less heavy tracks by Megadeth and Metallica, some Alter Bridge, maybe even Dragonforce (donthateme)

I reckon when it comes to metal, Fluttes would be a fan of the more classic and easier accessible kind of stuff like Kiss, Van Halen, Led zeppelin and all that kind of 80's music :3

Since this was a cool thread to begin with it will be the first installment of Fim Music's Playlist Challenge where we put forth a genre or a character (or in this case BOTH) and aks for people to submit their favorite pony songs for each for a playlist. This thread is a great example of what we hope a completed weekly challenge to look like. :D

Great idea! Hopefully this'll be a good method of introducing people not only to more pony music, but to that in which they have a particular interest. I'm definitely jumping in on these.
