I didn't find that scene as cute as many others did. So it's either I don't like AJ as much as others (but she is one of the better characters)... Or people are really over exaggerating that scene.

I think I had my expectations up WAY too high when I was expecting the Applejack song to be anything besides a country-type song with fiddles and squaredancing.

Also, I've built houses before and trust me, it's a shitload of work and it isn't fun. Applejack must have put valium or something in the apple treats that were being served because nobody seemed to mind the fact that they were doing very hard and tedious construction at a family reunion.

So the episode has a subtle hint that Applejack's parents are dead that was confirmed to be true.

Now if only they can get away with actually saying it on the show somehow.

Yeah, we keep forgetting that a lot of younger kids watch this show along with us. We can handle that, they however might not be able to. I remember when my uncle passed, that tore me apart when I was younger. We don't want that with our younger audience...well at least not yet. Let life show them how much of a pain in the ass it can be.

I like that they've never really gone into detail about Applejack's parents. When there are events that are alluded to but not detailed it makes you feel like the characters have lives and pasts outside of what we end up seeing in the show... Makes it feel like there's stuff always going on in the world even when we're not there to witness it, which makes it feel a lot more real. I like it.

Haha, you have no idea. I'm not a clopper or anything, but from what I know in my time on the internet... Yes, there are more than enough people who honestly expected/wanted Hasbro to put clop into mlp.

I'll bet you anything that the people who are so addicted to clop that they had those hopes and expectations lead very sad lives.

This episode seems to be basically the same as all the rest of the Applejack episodes. This episode, "Applebuck Season," and "The Last Roundup" all dealt with Applejack learning that family/friends are more valuable than her pride in achievements. It must be hard coming up with new Applejack episodes considering how one-dimensional her character can be.

Exactly, but without that creepy ass smile. I was thinking more along the lines of "She starts avoiding her friends, fearing they may find out that she told a lie" and it gets to the point where she's avoiding her family as well.

Next episode up is "Spike at your service". Hasn't been released early yet, but I'll bet that it's going to be released onto itunes a bit before it airs on TV tomorrow

Well i like it. Spike and his need to repay AJ got annoying real quick though. Its more interesting thinking if it was Rarity cause she was more up for it.
