Genres you'd LOVE to see some Brony music made in

We all love it, otherwise it's unlikely you'd be here. Talk about the show and the fanbase surrounding it. Brony music discussions encouraged.

Completely untrue. There is never enough noise music. Not to mention that noise music is the background of life, it's just a matter of recognizing it (See my signature for Cage's wisdom on the topic).

*Noise. Noise is the background of life. You're correct, if it was suddenly absent it would be very weird, to say the least.

In my opinion (remember that it is OK if our opinions differ), noise music, on the other hand, is annoying and pointless.

But back on subject, I'd enjoy seeing some pony gangster rap *totallyseriousface*

although for me noise is subjective. I consider many consider brostep as noise but I used to listen to black metal and digital hardcore. Noiserock is an awesome genre, Jesus and Mary Chain, Boris are some of my favorites. Btw I'd like to see brony music on Cybergrind

I resemble this remark. Been listening to a whole lot of Jesus and Mary Chain the last few days (working on a noise-pop song and using them as one of my references) and still can't understand why people don't like a little feedback over their music. Boris is pretty awesome too.

I wish there were more Industrial and its sub-genres, for purely selfish reasons. Right now I can recall D1SCORDANT3, who makes some decent tracks, but nothing that really gets my blood flowing. Very Skinny Puppy.

Crowcaller is a new addition to the fray, sounding a lot like Angelspit in her first song. She shows potential.

And that's pretty much about it. I realize we're dealing with a very niche genre, mostly prominent within the Goth crowd, but it would be insanely cool to get somewhat of a scene going. Powernoise, Industrial, EBM and Futurepop all united under the brony banner

Andy Feelin did some EBM stuff back in the day that was pretty good and legit.

Some of Tarby's stuff has leaned towards industrial rock i think.

Ballroom dancing music. And I'm not alone with that opinion.

Some of you might have heard of the GalaCon, that annual brony convention in Germany. Even fewer might know that one of its special features is the Gala Ball which actually involves mandatory dressing up (as in suits and dresses) and dancing ballroom-style.

I was there in 2012 and 2013, and there was always the same problem: It was impossible to dance to the music. Yes, there was some "orchestral" music, but little of it could be danced to, at least for those who had dancing lessons. A few waltzes have been played, and a foxtrot version of Discord last year, but that was pretty much it.

One could easily have the impression that whoever selected the music knew next to nothing about dancing and the corresponding music, so they simply chose stuff they thought would fit such a formal event (at least more than any EDM). But I guess the reason is rather that they didn't have any really danceable pony music to choose from.

So how about it? Might sound boring and complicated at first, but wait until you discover the Latin styles. And if you want to make some use of your orchestral library, this is both easier to do and more fun than symphonic music.

My parents taught me to ballroom dance, you don't need classical-esque songs, just songs with the right rhythm, lot's of pop songs have the right rhythm, but yeah, you should avoid EDM and Orchestral as their rhythm is completely wrong. I forgot which songs were used, but despite having the right rhythm "Why Can't I Be You" wasn't very ballroom dance-able. Regardless, seeing the fandom expand it's orchestral style from just battle themes would be nice.

Tarby is probably the biggest industrial player in the fandom, but it's like Industrial Rock/Metal, not EBM or the like except for like one exception.

Achebug also has industrial rock, though it's of the traditional style, not the metal style popularized by NIN.

Oh, and we tried industrial too, but it's just a noisy parody.

That's the extend I know, I'm a rock guy, not an EDM guy. I know NotACleverPony did Orchestral Darkwave and General Grumble has some Harsh Noise on one album, but yeah, there really isn't enough Industrial in this fandom.

If It were a week ago, I would have said Bluegrass and Folk, but just recently someone finally did that too XD

http://www.youtube.com/channel/UClWfsFxWU_gf5oJKiWWk0jg?feature=g-subs-u

And Spirit of Fire also covers 80s music….. so there really isn't much else I can think of that hasn't already been done XD Maybe some other 80's genres would be cool, since there was a few different styles in that era with some very unique sounds.
