Create your own VSTs: SynthMaker

Postby Sugarholik » 24 Oct 2011 02:22

http://www.synthmaker.co.uk/index.html
Headline says everything. Back in this thread everyone either just rushed to download the VST thing and missed this awesome program or nopony is interested.
This is ridiculosly easy to use. Just take a look at the example synth and you should be able to figure it out. Any VSTs created in the free version generate a noise burst though and the full version is quite expensive.
(VSTs work just fine when they are used within synthmaker, so you can try to record in to something else, or maybe upload the ready schematic on the forum and ask someone with the full version to do the plugin for you. That's if your wallet isn't fat enough. [Like mine isn't.])

Well, synthmaker is great and all, problem is, it's hard as hell to learn. Or at least, when I tried it, it was.
I may pick it up again though.

Any vst maker is hard to learn. It's not as hard as learning a new programming language, but harder than completing "colobot" only by programming bots.

I use max,or rather "plan to use"

As in Max MSP???
That program is amazing, but it's real difficult to get the hang of! I've heard that the 'coming soon' Max 6 should be simpler though, which is great!

I can help you out if you do. I haven't figured out the GUI stuff much but I'm becoming quite handy with the actual noise making thingies.

And Dissonance, public beta of Max MSP 6 seems to be there: http://cycling74.com/

Seems like something that might take my interest. I'll look into it at a later date.

You flaming sack of shit. I'm just helping the needy and the worthwhile. And keeping my post count above Makkon's to give me some silly sense of superiority.

But yeah, I've just been ill for the first time in weeks, so maybe it's that.

Ahh, so basically an exclusive version of MaxMSP but for Ableton! Looks pretty interesting!

Yeah, I have downloaded the beta, haven't gotten round to making anything in it yet...:P
