Looking for a good program for glitching

Postby FadedSilhouette » 01 Dec 2012 01:12

I'm looking for a good program for glitching and stuff that works with FL Studio. I'm currently looking at Gross Beats, from what I've tried on the demo it's pretty good but I would still like some more input on what would be a good one that isn't too complicated before I invest in one.

THIS ONE.

I don't know where to download it, since I use a mac, but my friend has this and he showed it to me one time and it's freaking awesome. I think it's free too.

Oh, I found the download link. http://illformed.org/plugins/glitch/

I actually have that one already and it works just fine, the only thing I don't really like with it is how few effect patterns I can have on it at a time and how much it's layout confused me when I first saw it. I'm just curious if there are other better programs out there or if it's basically just Glitch and Gross Beats. I kinda like the layout and number of patterns on Gross Beats better but thats not really enough to make me buy it over Glitch.

Actually, you customize the gross beat patterns and make your own presets. In fact, if you have a legit copy of Fl and Grossbeat, you can head over to the Looptalk forums too, there have been some people uploading gross beat presets there too

Glitch is free tho? Daft Punk used Grossbeat on Derezzed for that Tron OST. Actually I'm kinda done with all this glitching stuff. Its like a stutter every 16th note. You can check that out too, Stutter Edit by iZotope

Dblue_glitch is really easily recognizable when used. If you do, you'll probably be made fun of. Answer? use your DAW

Lol, i didnt even know there where plugins for this.
Usually I just a large amount of automated delay filters, distortions, and audioclips.
It would be a lot more work if you want to make something as complicated as the video of glitch, but the difference is thet you have so much more controll. If your the kind of person who wants full controll of how the drum beat sounds I would definatley recomend it, and id be happy to give tips/ a smaller tutorial on how to get some cool effects.
If your looking for something simpler, or if you dont have the beat in your head before you create it, you should probably keep looking.

This. I've recently got into glitching. Basically, set your arrange view to 1/64 grid, grab the scissors and go nuts.

As much as I'd love to be able to just use my DAW for glitching stuff, I still don't know what half the stuff in FL Studio does. I've been making music for less than a year and I don't have nearly as much time as I'd like to work on it and learn more lol it's unfortunate.

Glitching useing the DAW actually helped me find many new things you could do in FL studio. Your just looking for cool sounds most of the time, so its the perfect time to experiment with new effect filters. Its a greate way of gaining experience useing your DAW.

^^^^ yes. also glitching plugins are not recognizable as long you don't overdo it and use it on every beat etc. I like using the individual fx on dblue glitch myself

If you're using a loop sample, FL has Slicex which is great for constructing glitches in the piano roll
I am here to see what you do and omg it's cute

Well I don't have a midi controller yet but there is one I'm planning on getting but its $600 so it's a little ways off yet XD I already have Audacity aswell but I only use it for recording since the recording system in FL Studio sucks pretty hard.
