How to use ReWire?

Ive Heard the term be thrown around before, what i wish to do is use rewire to make vocaloid3 an audio device in ableton

what i currently did for this was make the voice in Vocaloid3, export it, import to ableton on top of my track, and see if it worked. I know its possible to use ReWire, but i have no idea how. thanks.

It should be in the manual for either Ableton or Vocaloid3, see if you have them from when you got the software, depends if you purchased a box copy or digital download from them.

huh, strange. well i guess ill just do what ive been doing, its not preferable, but it gets the job done

try setting vocaloid to rewire in it's settings and closing it. open ableton first, then re-open vocaloid. it should then be set up with ableton as the master and vocaloid as the slave application. Then check the "midi to" drop down menu in a midi track in the mix view of ableton and see if vocaloid is listed as an option. This is how you rewire with reason at least.
