I can come up with these awesome tunes in my head, and once I set out to make them I simply can't due to my ass-backwards ability at sound design. I think I register for top 10 worst sound designers, and as such my synths never sound like they do in my head. Then I give up or create something with what I can do.

This. I am the same way.

Ditto. I'm moving out of EDM for a little bit and try making "normal" music but chances are the outcome would be the same. So long as I can make something that sounds good to me, usually I'm okay with the outcome.

Melody. I need to learn how to do that better. I have a musical mind, but melody kinda escapes me :T

For the life of me I cannot collab. I mean, I've only tried one but still...

I just feel like I work far better alone

i agree wif dis. i have never done a colab and i think it would be fun, but I've never fully tried to because i just feel that it would be to hard trying to encorporate communication with another human being into a song. lol

but yeah i think motivation would be my hardest thing. i understand a lot of music theory and how ableton works n all but its hard to make something creative i guess. i have ideas for songs but never make em cause i think they arn't gonna be as good as i hope. but hopefully i can get over that :D

Take my advice with a grain of salt as i too am learning how this music stuff works

An addendum to my last post: Procrastination is my latest Achilles heel. Doesn't matter if you;re the best producer who ever graced the pony music scene, if you procrastinate, you're gonna have a bad time.

Making a good mixdown is still my biggest weakness. I can create the sounds, I want to, I'm fine with melodies and I can put an idea into my projectfile but I'm never satisfied with my mixdown.

2 Things..
First.. Always got this kick ass tune in your head, rush to my PC, fire up FL Studio...
Suck so hard at recreating that I forget the tune... get sad, close FL Studio...
Second.. I may be quite OK in Orchestral Songs.. but I actualy want to produce Electro songs...
I guess the hardest part on Electro is creating the synths.. DUH!

Sound Design, absolutely terrible, I vow to go and learn a shitton starting yesterday. Transitioning is still an issue for me but I am getting better, and still need to learn more music theory....

Probably audio quality or finalization. There are small cracks in the spectrum that more top-of-the-line producers seem to fill, and I can never put my finger on it.

For me it's hard dubstep drops and stuff like that. I find it difficult to comprehend making something so intricate.

It seems like I'm good at pretty much everything I need to make pro-level music, but when I put everything together into a song, it just does't sound as good as it should, most of the time. I don't know why. I think it's because of my limited experience.
I always enjoy doing something until I have to.
Good thing I'm supposed to be doing stuff other than music.

I originally struggled with sound design, but now I think I've gotten a decent grasp on it.

Now my biggest problem lies in having too many things going on at once.

Kyoga you are so knowledge...
teach me how magnets work, o mighty knower of things that do things

So weakest skill... now that would have to be either working with others (collabing or IRL, I'm good with taking fair/harsh criticisms though) or EQing. Mixing I'm apparently good at though, just not EQ.

I think I've mentioned this somewhere hut mixing and mastering is where I lack mostly, I find sound design and melodies way too much fun to actually read up on mixing XD

I try to put as much effort as possible into mixing my songs as of recently though just so I can evolve in that area.

Mixing and Mastering is my weakest point... which is quite unfortunate, considering that's what an entire track depends on.
