Grooveboxes?

Anypony in here running a groovebox? I'm thinking about grabbing an MC-303 on a lark and I was curious as to whether anyone in here was well-versed in what I suppose you could call the hardware predecessor of the modern DAW.

You mean like vintage hardware synth or more like band in a box practice tool?
(I don't own either, but I'd love to pick up a vintage hardware synth)
