mmm never had cpu hogging problems with FM8. even when I'm just using it on my laptop.
Fm8 is a complex synth. It does take a lot of computing power. 3xOsc is almost minimalistic in design. Go figure.
The very reason I tried to replicate the sound in Fm8 was so that I could incorporate FM synthesis in it. Fm8 is capable of (what I think is) additive synthesis (which I also assume 3xOsc uses) through the output row.
And really, that post was old. No point in replying to it, since I'd either given up or solved the problem. In this case, both.
