Bitcrusher with autometion

Postby FLAOFEI » 05 Dec 2012 15:34

So I wanna have a bitcrusher now that works with automation in FL studio (all the patches I have that arent native to FL dont suport automation, am i doing something wrong or do they just not suport it?)

Anyone have a bitcrusher for me? Preferably free, but its soon Christmas so I might get it if its not to expensive.

Go to the little arrow of the on the plug in bar (where presets randomize are) then click browser parameters, select the knob/bar you wanna automate (sometimes you need to drag it just a little) at the sidebar (where you check your samples etc a certain parameter with a random name (ex: Fx input-1/stfx etc) will be highlighted right click it and click creat automation clip and you have your automation of a non-image line plugin. :3

If you want to automate something that doesn't have the automate option right there (just like massive doesn't have an automation option if you right click on a knob), you can tweak the knob or slider you want to automate just a bit, then go to the tool bar at the top of FL itself, and select "TOOLS", then go down to the option "last tweaked", that'll open another drop down menu, and there will be a create automation clip option right there.

fairly certain that should work.

Any bitcrusher will do automation. Whether or not you know how to use automation is another matter.

Wait, why the hell do you want to automate a bitcrusher? And what on it are you automating?

Why wouldn't you want to automate a bitcrusher? Changing the downsampling rate is a common practice for "yoi" sounds...

I linked in the Talking Bass thread a good free bitcrusher.

You don't necessarily have to automate the bitcrusher itself. In fact usually, you just slap a bitcrusher over a LP or double notch or whatever filter wobble and you'll get your yoi. There's no need to automate the bitcrusher itself.

I never said that that is how to obtain the yoi sound, by automating the downsampling rate. I said that it's common practice. Lots of people do that to keep their basses from sounding stale, even if you're using the same patch. Movement is important to keep the listener on their toes.

Because i wanted a saw lead to fall apart. Starting of as a clean saw wave and end up... Bitcrushed. I think I automated the dry/wet ratio and the bitdepth (or maby the samplerate, dont remember right now).

Have the plugin now and know how to automate non-imageline plugins. Thanx guys, yoi so helpfull
