Just finished listening and reading the log. Looks like lots of fun was had. I must say, though, I'm kinda disappointed to see people rating songs 0-10. Why not do what we say we do and help people out by letting them know what they could improve? (Though, to be fair, I saw quite a bit of this, too.)

Sure, some remixes may actually suck, but who benefits from telling a newbie at music they suck? Come on, let's leave ratings for music and movie critics; we all can actually create things, so let's try making better musicians.

^this

The careless 0-10 ratings should be left for non-musicians because they don't know any better.

As musicians all from the same community, we should be helping each other. Giving someone's song a 4 doesn't tell them how to improve. We should be telling them whatever issues there were with arrangement or mixing or whatever. That way they can avoid those problems next time.

yeahhhh I'd discourage that too, at least if you're being serious about it.
0/10 or 11/10 or whatever as seals of approval are cool, but critique will always outweigh number ratings.
that's why I'm trying to keep all the musician chatter in #bronymusic, seperate from the non-musician chat.
ideally you'd get a bit more constructive feedback that way.

I am fairly certain (within 5σ) that your countdown is wrong. check your timezones.

(and to clarify on why my countdown was off yesterday: StarsinAutumn set it for 2 hours later than he intended, and I just went along with that. When Stars changed the deadline back, the change wasn't reflected on TB.)

MYCUTIEMARKISAGUN wrote:So we can pretty much forget about synctube logs hanh?
Well. Kind of.
Yesterday we had 7 rooms open.
7!
I decided to just focus on the first synctube room and the IRC chat.

but then the synctube room I was in was spam-bombed, and so I lost my logs. :\

I've been talking with StarsinAutumn and we've come up with something (slightly) more organized (hopefully) and a spam-prevention script (which isn't perfect but it does help).
If all goes well I might be able to get logs from each synctube room

Oh, my supah clever countdown loads the time from the computer and makes some fancy maths, so it will only work on PCs in GTM+1 timezone :S

I'm fixing it...

EDIT: Fixed!

just in case anyone missed it: THE SYNC IS NOW
pick a room:
http://toastbeard.bronyradio.com/a/RW5
(or the first post in this thread)

ALSO, THE DEADLINE WAS EXTENDED FOR ANYONE WHO MISSED THE INITIAL DEADLINE
the extension will end at about the same time as the sync

It depends on where in Australia you are. If you're around Perth or whatnot, that's probably around 4am, but if you're around Sydney/Canberra (like me) it will be 6am.

My problem with the syncs is that I always have to leave for work an hour after they start. :(
It's no one else's fault, but it just sucks that I won't be there to listen to the comments and criticisms of my remix when it'll get played next Saturday. Ho hum.

Actually, I think that's 4am for west coast, and 6am for east...
(I'm basing this off of when the first sync was on for us Aussies, has the scheduled time changed since then?)

4am for West Australia, 5:30 for most of the middle of australia, and 6am for eastern australia.

And it will be on the 9th for you because we're ahead in time, be careful with that. :P

Derp. Well, at least I can attend one sync listen (if I can manage to drag myself out of bed at 6am on Sunday morning).
