Vote is up! It'll end when it ends, we also have other things to discuss. Like working around school hours, etc.

A lot of these are pretty cool, but style-swap is best.

I make trance/eurotrance. It's pretty much all VST's(I use Nexus+Z3ta for the leads, and Vanguard for the bass), and a few drum samples in there. All combined with delay/reverb.
They have some really good tutorials on youtube.

As seeing that style-swap is winning I have a question.
I do something like somepony and then that pony does something like me?
If yes I'll probably need to challenge Supersaw Hoover :D

The purpose of the style swap is to make you get out of your comfort zone. This is just coming from me, but I'd prefer that you challenged someone who has a very different style than you. For example, you could challenge Dr Dissonance because he focuses on orchestral music.

It'll still be your call, though, on who you challenge.

But that will be super extemely difficult. I thought about speedcore, but now when I thonk of it I feel that it's still in my comfort zone :D Classical, orchestral, jazz would be interesting and definitely a hard challenge, but I haven't got a single clue how to make something like that.
Well you got me convinced :D I challenge Dr Dissonance! But still be free to challenge my dubstep/DnB skills to do something strange if he refuses or is already challenged :D

You know, Notacleverpony and I were talking and we discussed a possibility you all might be willing to incorporate in the style swap. It'd be interesting to get as close to the other person's style as you can, at least in the core mechanics, but to still have your own touch in there. Say, if I were to challenge him, I'd use similar melodies and his synth and composition style, but I still might stick my own organic instruments in there, like a sample choir or a string quartet.

Thoughts?

Can you even have orchestrated pitch bends?

Yep, KeepOnRockin' and I are switching, and I'm keeping some of my wubs in the hardstyle track I'm making, and he's using his ridiculous kick and bass in his dubstep song.

A surprisingly large number of instruments can, though most wind instruments can only bend down, or under-hit a target pitch and then slide up to said pitch. And each instrument has its own specific things, and wind instrument bends don't sound nearly as smooth as string bends...

But they're there.

EDIT: I'd also love to challenge someone, preferably someone who does electronic things, to a style swap, but I have no idea who's taken. xD

Should we make a separate thread for style-swap challenges/proposals, and to record a master list to see who's taken?
