Makkon wrote:What I do as orchestral instrumentation doesn't even compare to the complexity and difficulty of what most of everyone else on this forum does. Electronic music isn't a few clicks. It's painstaking hours of tedious work, and a good song would only take a week if you were working on it like a full time job. I can't even begin to do a decent job of it myself.
Don't be presumptuous, if you knew much about electronic music composition you would demonstrate some more respect for it and the people who make it.

Please read more carefully.This isn't a "contest", and this isn't for electronic musicians only. It's for the musicians, by the musicians, for no other purpose than to expand your skills, try new things, and get to know eachother.

No, I understand. It was an exaggeration. Still, when you use electronic instruments you don't have to do takes-- you just change the instrument. You have more time to experiment, to try things and decide you don't like them. One person can do much more in much less time. And not only does one suddenly have access to thousands of expensive instruments, but also the proficiency to play them.

And you make wonderful, creative things with them. But that doesn't mean I won't feel jealous and cheated when I have to make due with what I have, and actually perform.

I understand the sass will do nothing but piss people off. Feel free to ignore me.

"Changing the instrument" requires fine-tuning your sound manually using a complicated system of knobs and sliders that I don't really completely understand. Don't discredit electronic musicians simply because they're electronic musicians. It takes a lot of knowledge to make it well.

Regardless, we don't need to continue the argument, it's a different form of music. Make the kind of music you want, there's a whole month left so you have plenty of time.

Sorry for coming off so strong. It does rub me the wrong way when people pass off electronic music as easy in any way.

I have a Problem.
I really want to make a Remix of "Luna" by Eurobeat Brony, but I have no Contact Info so I can't ask him I can get an allowence.
Does someone know how I may contact him?
I make different kinds of music, often get told that It sounds like something for a Video Game because I make only instrumentals, never had a chance to make music for an actual game. I would love to.

Interesting-- No Medleys? I'm working on a collaboration where we do, in fact, mashup several fansongs (with a theme) into one great, a-capella medley. We are, in fact, remaking the songs, and we are introducing our own elements; it's not a straight cover.

Are we excluded?

what. if that doesn't count I'm going to explode. (musically.)

MEDLEYS != MASHUPS, but they're not mutually exclusive either. If you're, say for example, making a meldey of several different songs (spanning different genres), but your medley stays within one style (piano, for example), then I can't think of why that wouldn't be fine.
also, I want to hear that.

don't worry, you don't need to ask before you remix.
however, you might need to ask to get the vocal samples.
(then again, someone else might already have them)

Medleys/Mashups should be allowed if its done well on something like, JackleApp's whole "Seasons" album crammed together into a single; or a remix of all of NACP's "Luna as Imagined" EP into one great track.
~~~~~Personally, I'd love to see more songs like this.~~~~~
What I don't want to see is Rainbow Factory and Party with Pinkie somehow mashed together, or a song titled "The Best Brony Music!"
As far as I understood it you had too ask :/ (well, I got a confirmation from hiom on Youtube now :) )
there even is an Voices-only version of this song in the Super Ponybeat 1 Alternate Album, but I don't need them. I'm making a Old Music Box version (it's unique, nobody did it before and I think it sounds nice :P )
asking is not _necessary_, but it's more of a thing on manners or courtesy, i don't know.
on the other hand, if you want stems, you will need to get in touch with the individual and ask for stems (unless you have perfect pitch and can notate everything by ear)
This may have been answered before, but everything I type into the search bar is "too common".
Can you show the WIP to the creator of the original song?
I see how that's common- all those words are used 100 times a day. Yes, you can, but note- they won't always listen to it. Not because they don't like you, but because they want to be amazed at RW5.
