Brony Dance Music?

Postby Belgerum » 07 Jan 2013 23:39

I Don't know about you guys, but one thing that I think this fandom could easily make that we haven't yet (as far as I know) is specific musical pieces with dances to go along with them, to do at parties or other such things. Not that I'm trying to go ahead and say I want people to dance to my music or anything, but I think we should remedy this.

I'm not talking about Dance music as a genre, but music with dances to go with them, like Cotton-eye Joe, the Macerena, or lord help me, The Chicken Dance. If any of you have ever danced to this kind of thing, where the steps are easy to do, and everyone can do them together, it's really fun.

Perhaps someone could come up with a dance to a popular Brony song, or write a song with it's own dance?

Another thing that I think could be cool, and that I might like to try my hand at with the help of a vocalist, would be if someone could make a song not unlike the Cha Cha Slide, where the main vocalist is constantly giving/suggesting the crowd easy movements or dances to do. The Vocalist is also accompanied by musical cues to suggest timing by the audience, which makes it easy for a group to do the dance together.

I think it would be a cool idea to see something happen in this area of music. It'd definitely stand out if we made a ponified dance groove to share around and try with brony friends, and hopefully it'd be something fun. (also, I may want to try one if someone makes one.)

oh dear.

I'll admit that I'm not the best dancer ever as well, but I think the musical element is something that could be fun and interesting to make.

Well the thing that would likely need to have happen is a live action display of the dance with the song (ie like the Psy video) or have an animator be able to recreate the same dance (a bit harder). Oh and it would have to be popular enough to be seen and not look silly enough that people would be embarassed doing it unison or by themselves (not that guys dressing up as Pinkie at a bronycon are worried about how they appear).

I remember the Discord shuffle i saw at the older bronycon, *shudders* :?

If someone really does decide to choreograph a brony dance, it should be to this song.

I suddenly have the biggest urge to make something like the Cha-Cha Slide. Fuck it, I'm doing it.

Edit: Already lost motivation, never mind.
