The Other Collab Thread! (Vocalist/Instrumentalist List)

Postby Trixie » 15 Mar 2012 20:00

My apologies if this or something similar has been done before!

Now, I know there's a DAW listing thread for collab purposes, but what if you want to collab otherwise? By otherwise I mean, actual instruments and recorded parts!

So the idea behind this thread is simple; you need a *certain instrument*? No problem! Look through the list here and find several brony *instrument* players, along with some examples of their past work, and contact them using the contact info on this thread!

Here's the form you should fill out:

What you play/do:
Some examples:
Preferred Genres(s) [if any]:
Contact information:
Other:

For the What you play section, just tell us what instruments you can play and have the equipment to record!
For examples: Shameless self plugs! Send us to your youtube channel, your soundcloud page, anything! To avoid clutter, however, I ask that you keep it under three links.
For Preferred Genre: What genre do you really love playing? What genre are you used to playing, and know inside out? Tell us all of this! Or, if you love experimenting with all things, leave it blank!
Contact Information: What's your preferred method of contact? Skype? Steam? Email? Whatever it is, tell us here.
For Other: ...Well, I don't know, but I'm sure you guys will think of something!

Also, YES, vocalists count!

And that's pretty much it! Add anything you deem necessary to the form.

Hope this helps!

*THIS POST WILL BE UPDATED WITH THE LISTS AS PEOPLE POST INFORMATION*

LIST:

colortwelve
What I play/do: Produce, mostly, but apparently I can do a pretty good simulation of a distorted electric guitar using Massive and Guitar Rig, so yeah.

Some examples: http://soundcloud.com/colortwelve/i-don ... -will-ever http://soundcloud.com/colortwelve/grimy

Preferred Genres: I usually do a sort of grime, but with guitars instead of filthy bass. I can also do super-cliche-sounding house, downtempo, alternative rockish stuff, and sometimes mellow drum and bass.

Contact information: Skype (colortwelve), email ([email protected])

Other: I can finish an instrumental very very quickly if you ask me to - same day, night-guaranteed. And I am always open to changing stuff around to suit my collaborator, especially when it comes to length on vocal tracks.

Mixolydian Pony

What you play/do: Electric and acoustic guitars (6 and 12 string), clarinet, alto sax, mediocre vocals.
Some examples: http://soundcloud.com/mixolydian-pony more/better examples pending.
Preferred Genres(s) [if any]: I love anything and everything.
Contact information: PM me here on MLR, PM me on Soundcloud, or email me at manofmixolydian[at]yahoo[dot]com
Other: I can't shred like a madman, but I'm pretty good technique-wise and I can compose fairly well.

Roselight_Night

What you play/do: I'm a female vocalist.

Some examples: You can check out my youtube where I can be seen with my Dad singing some acoustic bluesy stuff (http://www.youtube.com/user/TheHappySqu ... ature=mhee) or you can have a look at a crappy MLP medley I made. When I say crappy I mean the horrible loops I had to use as backing since I'm useless at anything else! I don't think my singing is crappy. I think it's adequate. Hopefully you agree. (http://itjustmadeitkind.tumblr.com/post ... ing-really)

Preferred Genres(s) [if any]: PONIES.

Contact information: you can private message me on here, I check it regularly

Other: There's nothing else you need to know except....I'm just super keen for a collaboration! I can't compose at all which is something that frustrates me to no end, but I love singing more than anything else! I'm pretty easy going so please don't hesitate to ask me if you think my vocals could help a project.

LunchBagMusic

What I do: Piano, and I can hold a note with my voice. I'm learning Trombone, but don't ask me to play. Also avid composer for all genres not electric/dubstep/progressivehardcoretrancehousecidersqueezy6000
Examples: I have no examples on the Internet but I hold a grade 7 AMEB qualification in piano and I am currently studying grade 8 (AMEB has 8 grades, 8 being highest, plus an additional performance grading (AMUS) - hint: 7 is pretty good, 8 is excellent and the AMUS is just swag.)
Preferred Genres: Anything. Can play classical, jazz, pop, rock and a competent improviser.
Contact: Message me here for my skype
Other: I don't actually have any recording equipment. A MIDI cable is on my list of things to buy, this will just convince me to get one. This means you'll get MIDI files of my playing, or I can try to record at school. I dunno

@pplebukker
What you play/do: Guitar (electric and acoustic), Bass Guitar, Sing

Vocalist. Will collab with anyone. Does singing, screams, and raps. Also dabbles in FL Studio. Writes lyrics. Self-advertising whore.
