I feel the same way XD! Yeah I admit I do tend to derive a tone from people's avatar, and I hope I'm not alone in this, but sometimes avatars effect my first impressions of people XD! It is your internet face in a sense.

On that note, I have no idea what my avatar is supposed to infer. Feedback?

I read people's posts with professional looking avatars or commissioned/personal-best artwork more seriously than people with stupid or generic looking avatars. Since we are on a pony music forum, most pony stuff works. I don't like unrelated avatars as much.

Even though their avatars do not represent as well as an OC avatar would, I still think that Callenby's and eery's avatars are totally great!

Yeah, I guess this is something I haven't really thought about. I don't think I ever really read a post based just on the avatar, but I do often use avatars to identify people still. And... I guess after a while I do start coming up with headcannon voices for everyone based slightly on what the avatars look like. I dunno =P

I think the avatar tells you something about the poster.

I put avatars in to these 3 chategorys:
Comissioned/Custom srs face OC/logo (CitricAcid comes to mind) - Ok, this person means BIZNIZ!!! Don't mess with this guy, no humour here!
Cute/Funny character, OC or other (FritzyBeat, Jokeblue, most ppl here) - Ok, this person is good, but he chill. He knows what he's doing, but you can still joke around a bit.
Random as fuck (MS paint also helps) (PropellerEscape, Berri) - Yup, this is a funny person. Funny ppl R gud, I leik FUneH PPL! ;D (take nothing 4 srs)

They tell you a bit about how much humour vs. valuable information you can get from the user. Sometimes it works, other times it's the exact opposite. It's really just judging a book by its cover... so it doesn't work all to well :/

I would like to know how ppl see my avatar... I heard ppl think it's funny and cute and all, but can I ever be taken srsly with it?

I also wanna add that I hate it when ppl change avatar all the time. Avatars are your internet faces! That's how I recognise you!
