Deffo making something for this.

I'm thinking of bumping the deadline up a be a couple of weeks or even a months sooner. I don't want people to burn out early and for the album to be forgotten. Still 3 months left ..

Though I can only speak for myself, I think shortening the deadline would be a good idea. It might help to make it due before school/uni gets underway again.

I'd have to agree, I find if you make the deadline too long, people will just forget about it. I had just assumed the deadline was somewhere about the end of July/start of august.

I think the deadline's cool. Not too far away to be forgotten, but not to early to put something together half assedly in a rush, methinks. It's comfortable for me. I'm certain that I wouldn't be able to make anything for it if it was due say, a month earlier.

Ok, well I need to decide on a definite deadline / release date so I can send stuff to TWLOHA for promotion. I'd planned for the deadline to be Sept 30 and released on Nov 3. If I changed it it would probably be Sept 1 for release on Sept 4. Yes? No? I think Sept 1 is still long enough so people aren't rushed.

Well hopefully Criostasis can finish off our collab in time. I'm still sort of inexperienced, though I dabble with
DAW - Ableton 8
Genre - Hard Trance/Hard Dance
My main and only synth currently is Sylenth1.

I don't really have anything on soundcloud yet, but here is both of our SC's

I'm still gonna say no because that deadline almost guarantees I won't be able to finish anything on time, and if I do, it'll probably come out rushed. But then, I really shouldn't weigh on any final decisions. This is only my take on the matter, make any calls you deem necessary.

I do wanna say though, that I think concerns about artists losing interest due to a deadline being "far" (a couple of months) away are poorly founded, given the turnout of completed projects with deadlines just as distant, or even more, the Bronies for Good charity albums being the first to come to mind. They usually leave about three months between announcement and hand-in deadline, and end up with solid products. Seeds of Kindness got pushed back so many times, and they still came out with a great album. For Sori 52: a SoGreatandPowerful Compilation Album, work on it began around late September, and was wrapped up after Christmas, and personally, I'm very satisfied with the turnout. I think a long-ish period of time to work on it allowed us to work out the kinks of the release comfortably as well. Really, any artist genuinely interested in participating will stick with the project.

Granted, the nature of both projects I mentioned is probably slightly different than that of this one, but I'd say the point still stands. Even more so if the only reason to move the deadline is artists losing interest, and not say, trying to coordinate its release with a date significant to TWLOHA, or with an event of some kind.

^ You're right. Good points about the other albums, 3 months isn't actually all that long anyway. :3

I'll get right onto TWLOHA and sort out release dates & promotion and jazz. I hope you'll be able to get something knocked together for this!

I gave the album art a shot. My idea didn't work out, so I tried something different. That's when I remembered I'm a musician, not an artist. Here's my 'art' for you to laugh at anyways.

Here's the text on it's own.

Yeah, my original idea was a lot more interesting but it didn't work out so I really had no idea what to do for the background, I kinda just messed with filters and effects in photoshop.

This would be a great charity to give to.

What would you think about a song that was about self harm, depression, etc.?

Judging by the original post date it seems I'm a little late to the party lol I would love to do a collab for this, I'm okay with anything but if you wanna do dubstep you should know that I don't know XD. I never taken the time to learn it nor do I listen to enough of it to really understand it. If anyone would like to collab with me I use FL 11 with Toxic Biohazard, Z3ta+2, Harmor and Sytrus. I've got a few projects already in the works and I'll probably use one for this but if a collab opportunity comes up then it comes first.

Anything!
There are no limits on style or genre. As long as your submission isn't ridiculously extreme, there shouldn't be any problem! There isn't a particular theme in place, but try not to make your songs too sad; I feel the album should uplifting in general.
