Alright everyone here is the finished version of my track, I might be doing another one but I'll have to make sure I have time first. lol

https://www.box.com/s/ixpp575og4ofzmb7bcxu

Now I feel like explaining myself a bit with this track, and how it's pony related. I based this song off of the fanfiction, Silent Ponyville. This was a grimdark spin off of cupcakes/Silent Hill. Where pinkie pie was having nightmares and whatnot and she goes to twilight for help. Twilight uses a spell called "The Mind Delve" on pinkie which sends her into the deep are depths of her mind find the root of her nightmares. She gets sent is a Silent Hill like version of ponyville, which is apparently inside her mind, and grimdark ensues.

Thats why the occasionally static(vinyl distortion) plays throughout the track, which in the game/fanfiction a record player like object emits static at various volumes depending on how close enemies are to you.

Anyways, that was my thoughts on this track. I would like some feedback if possible.

I'd also like to remind you guys that I am still offering to master your tracks for you if you'd like someone else to do it for you, just send me the .wav whenever it's ready. All I'd ask is that you mix your track down to about -6.00 dB on your master bus before you send it to me.

Hey Yakface, how would you suggest I get a massive sub kind of like Datsik's earlier work or whatever?

Currently, I have a three octave spread of sine waves, cutting everything above 125hz and everything below 30. I'm boosting 50hz by a few decibals and then running it into a compressor, compressing it a bit and bringing the volume up, then sidechaining to a ghost kick (because my main kick was too long and sounded bad). Despite this, my sub is still not as powerful (as you yourself said when I posted that WIP earlier).

So how do I rape peoples subwoofers?

Well one thing I would make sure of it that the attack on your compressor is really fast so that side-chain effects it right away, I had I problem with the sub's power because of this a while back.

Another thing would I would try is just having one oscillator set on a sine wave and having the midi nots playing your bass line in the C0-C1 range.

Maybe also adding just a wee bit of saturation/distortion. Not too much though. If all else fails then hit up youtube! lol I have learn almost everything I know from that magically site, you might find something that would work there!

Side note, I use massive for almost all of my synths, including my sub bass. I don't know what you use but this video is helpful!

Well, I've switched moods. Im making something really euphoric and melodic. Might be more liquid/chillstep than oldschool, but w/e. I should have it done sometime next week.

Well it doesn't have to be pony related! You definitely get bonus points for ponies but it is not a requirement!

Alright

I'm trying to find the time to master my other song

So

I don't know.

It might be a while until you see it, because with winter break being over, and the fact I have to spend most of the week with my grandmother, I barely have any time for myself (And not because of schoolwork; I actually don't get too much of that. It's my grandmother that barely gives me any time for myself).

But I shall try to get it done soon!

Don't realy agree on the Pinkamena party thing, not quite upbeat enough for that (You think theres gona be a 2nd PinkaParty? I hate myself for missing the first one :/ ) but I do se that it shouldnt be on this album. Feel free to ignore I ever mentioned it

You could always organize your own Pinkamena Party 2, you know :3

As for dubstep, I still can't get my sub to fill up the speakers as much as, say, one of Datsik's earlier songs. Of course, he's far more skilled than I am, might be why, but my sub currently sounds too centered. I know basses are supposed to be in the center, but still...
