The Invisibles Album

Postby Bizzarity » 27 Jul 2012 14:05

Hello there. I am the Bizzarity, and I've been making music for the better part of the year now. As such, I don't exactly have a lot of people who have been exposed to my music. I came across a thread promoting an album called "The Lesser knowns", and I figured, hey, that's a neat idea!

Specifically, this album will be a free compilation of nearly unknown artists For the people who have never gotten over a thousand views on a song on youtube, or only have about 20 or less subscribers. Similar to the Lesser Knowns, but for even more obscure artists. The genre can be any you like, so long as you really put an effort into making this song one of the best you've ever made. There will be minor quality control if I get a track that is simply egregiously below the standards of the other submissions, but that will hopefully be very rare. Collaborations are encouraged, so that even more humble artists can be brought to light.

In fact, that is the theme of this album. "Brought to Light." Whatever you decide that means, try to base your song around that.

To contact me for this project, you can either message me on this site or use my email at [email protected]. Submissions will be due before the end of September. To submit, upload your song (as a WAV) to a file sharing website such as Mediafire and email me the link.

Well, I look forward to seeing all the great songs that I know you guys will put out. Have fun!

7/28/12 UPDATE:
Wow! I'm rather impressed by the response this thing has gotten! Here are a few more additional additions to the guidelines.

-If you are a more well known artist, feel free to collaborate on a song with one of the target group.
-Please don't submit a previously made song unless you feel like it's miles above everything else you've ever done.
-If the submission list gets too big, then I will assemble a panel of a few judges to decide which songs will make the cut.

Also, one last thing. More likely than not, this album will be released on Bandcamp as a "Pay What you want." I have two questions to ask you all.

1) Do you think it should be released some other way?
2)Where should any money given go?

Happy mixing!

More obscure than the Lesser Knowns? Eeyup, that's me. I would be in, except I'm already working on a thousand things at once.

I'm probably more qualified for this than TLK2... but I'm swamped with that, Soft Spectrum, FAP, RW5, and personal projects. :S

You'll find that I'm not picky, though you will probably be high on the list for eleventh hour dropouts if I need to do them. Just as a warning.

26 subs and 1200 views (total, most I've ever gotten on any particular song is 150)... Do I qualify?
Also, can you submit previously released songs?

1) Easily.

2) Well, I would prefer that you made an original just for this, but if you want to submit an old one (only one that you feel is your magnum opus) as well, know that if I have to cut songs from the album for some reason, that song will be very likely to be one of them.

Well, the song that I've already released that I was thinking of submitting is this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qAXZXKvp-js
I thought that it might fit the theme well and it's still probably my best track yet. I might still submit it, but I'll try to work on a new track, just in case.

Well, while that was really impressive, I think it might be a bit long for the purposes of this album.

Oh well :(
What would you set as a maximum length for the track, just so everyone knows?

I don't see the problem with a long song. I'm a huge progressive music fan, and long songs are generally my favorites. Just put it at the end so people who don't like that stuff wont be bored.
