You're probably asking why do we have a thread, the answer is simple: you can use dropbox,4shared,mediafire, and box to share you're work in progresses. Keep in mind you should not make it public until the albums release date unless you want to be disqualified.

I've been waiting a while for something like this.

I have dibs on Kindred Spirits, I Couldn't Wake You Because You Can Never Wake Up Again, Cupcakes, and maybe some others if I have time (Pretty in Pink, Prince Charming, The Cough, Building Bridges, Princess Molestia, Silent Ponyville, Rainbow Factory, Tom Goes to Ponyville, My Little Dashie, The Last Crusade, Bubbles, A Rose Reverie, or something else that I like). I obviously won't get to all of them, but I might make 4-7 of these by August.

Definitely doing something for the Eversleep series. Ballad of Echo the Diamond Dog, Background Pony, and Octavia Rides the Bus are distinct maybes. But The Eversleep/Endless Sky? Fuck yes this is happening.

Just to be clear: there are no "dibs" on fanfics. 10 artists can cover the same fic. The proceeds will be split among all of the authors represented in the album -equally-. (Ie, if one author has five songs on the album about their fics and another has only one, both authors will receive the same donation amount.)

Just spoke to the author who is writing the Eversleep series, the fics about which I plan on submitting a song. He's a little skeptical in regards to the legality of this album, so here is his main concern, in his words.

Is it a "thank you for writing" gift? Can the money be seen as payment for the writing? Blah blah legal jargon, blah, blah.

The album will be a "donate or free" album, likely on Bandcamp. We're not technically charging for the product, and therefore, any proceeds are considered a "donation". We are not employing anyone or conducting any business deals. ;p

I also doubt that the donation amount to each author (once split up) will be enough to rear the heads of any legal dragons. We're just trying to say "thank you" to a bunch of authors on a large scale. ^.^
