Don't make anything angry, creepy or overly depressing (but sad can be fine) and your song should have no problem fitting in.

So I take it I shouldn't use atonality?

Not necessarily. I mean, it'd be hard if you made the whole song atonal, but I know there are some atonal pads that can be used "for the forces of good." Try things and see if they work.

I'm not quite sure what you mean there. I need specific examples of songs or theory, etc.

I don't have any specifics. I'm saying plop in an atonal pad and see if it works. Take risks.

It made them cry just because it was the last one, it was a great album, and it was the sort of experience when you exit the theatre . So you could just do the same thing ^^

If it's original work only, but Pony is still allowed, can I do still a euroska arrange of Smile from MLP?
EDIT-
Dangit! Can you please update the OP and specifically state NO for Pony rearrangements?
I just looked through the posts and found the answer myself. 7_7

Also, what's the length limit on entries? Or, are you keeping it close to your chest so as not to provoke composers to make limit-length songs?

There is no hard and fast length limit, just try to keep it somewhat reasonable. Last album had a few songs around the 6 minutes mark, but nothing much longer. That being said, even a 12mn song could hypothetically get in if it's really awesome.

Here's a preview of mine

http://soundcloud.com/ghostxb/endless-faith-preview

Still got lots of work ahead of me. I got the intro, the end, and some of the middle, I don't know why I'm working on this in non-chronological order, but it seems to work, and this is definitely my most complex song yet.

I'm already at over 4 minutes long, but I think this song calls for more length, I'll be going through different movements, is that ok?

EDIT: Nvm I just saw Incs post regarding that issue XD! I'm thinking maybe 6 minutes for mine, I don't know, we'll see which directions this song wants to take.

I got a message on one of my songs on YT linking me to this project. After looking through it, I gotta say, I'd love to be part of it. I will most definitely be writing a piece for this Charity Album. Best of luck on the project! ^^

So, what if my song is all epic and gloom, but then it switches at the end to a beautiful outtro? :D I'm liking how it's working out so far, I just hope it'll fit into the album.

I've been working on two pieces. The jazz piece isn't making a lot of progress, as of late, but the other folkrock song's doing pretty well so far :) Here's what I've got so far.

Hello, all! I have two pieces that I'm working on, but I only want to submit one. I was wondering if you could help me choose which one to submit for the album. These are very WIP at the moment, so any advice would be great.

The link is here, and it's a link since I made it a set.

For more info, check the link.

Thanks!

Vocalist. Will collab with anyone. Does singing, screams, and raps. Also dabbles in FL Studio. Writes lyrics. Self-advertising whore.

I'm a little more drawn to the second one, but perhaps that's just because it seems more developed then the other one.

I definitely like the second one more but the first feels it would work better in this particular album.

Huzzah for my first post! (first anything on this site, for that matter.) I actually have a song I've been wanting to do something with lying around my hard drive for the past few weeks. I'll submit that.

Well, while I was making my track, I realized that it was really made to include vocals. So how about it, eh? When I get the track fully finished, will you help out?
