Seeds of Kindness 3: A BEAUTIFUL HEART Charity Album

Hi there!
Thanks to the fantastic job you guys did on the two previous charity album, Seeds of Kindness collected over $90,000, supporting various Your Siblings and Engineers Without Borders projects in Uganda, Burundi and Tanzania. You can already see the progress of the (now completely funded) Your Siblings projects here and in the video below:

I would also like to post this video again, as it needs to be seen by everyone who helped in any way. There are many things I would like to say, but it speaks better than I ever could.



Something truly beautiful happened, and I hope we can keep going in this direction!

Charity album 3: A BEAUTIFUL HEART

Deadline: July 7th, 2013
Genre: EVERYTHING


What you can submit:

Equineness: Pony and non-pony are equally welcome.

Original work only: no copyrighted material (remixes, samples) can be used, for legal reasons. Collabs are encouraged!

Theme: It looks like the name usually shapes the overall mood of the album, but there are no real restrictions besides common sense. Don't make anything angry, creepy or overly depressing (but sad can be fine) and your song should have no problem fitting in.

Multiplicity: You can submit as many songs as you want! Two songs from the same artist can get in without any problem, but over that number (excluding collabs), we may only take the best two of them, unless they're all exceptional. No length restriction either, as long as it's good enough to sustain its length.

How to submit:

Please send an email to [email protected], with the subject “[ABH]” followed by your username, and include the following:

1. An mp3 file on minus.com(easier) or box.com
2. A lossless file (preferably flac or aiff) uploaded somewhere. I tend to see a lot of Dropbox links dying for some reason, so please be careful.
3. A link for credit (Youtube channel, Soundcloud, etc..)
4. Lyrics, if applicable.

You can upload your song on Youtube (without download links) when the album is released, but please do not make your song public until then. However, feel free to upload previews or ask for feedback!

The policy of our partner, Your Siblings, is to cover all travel and personal costs as well as money transfer fees independently from donations, so that 100% of what you give will be spent exclusively on the projects. Moreover, every project they support was founded by locals, is run by locals, and will break free from outside aid after this initial impulse. Faithful and Strong was a time for me to grow as a musician, and I feel like the song I made was the transition song from Bad Me to New Me. Now that I'm New Me, it's time to give these guys my all.

Of all projects to be involved in, these are the best. I'm going to be in on this one with my newly legally acquired kontakt libraries and my college level theory. I've always used legal software, but I've got a lot of new firepower now. Unlike the past, I also have theory training, so I can make things that are so much the better than what I submitted to the last album, or -goodness- *ahem*, what I submitted to the one before that. I'm honored to be here, and for both of my previous tracks to make it in, but even more honored to be able to apply my knowledge now and make something even greater!

Glad to see you're pumped for this, you guys rock! I'll do my best to ensure this goes as smoothly as possible, don't hesitate if you have any question to ask. That's already what this forum is for, but if you're looking for a new set of ears, you can PM me your WIP for feedback and I can forward it to some folks who are pretty good at this.

Is there something wrong with WAV files?

WAV is extremely heavy, whereas lossless compression makes working with several hours of music a bit less of a logistics nightmare, especially when some of us have a pretty bad connection. Please use other lossless formats when possible, it really does make things a lot easier for us!
