I guess I really just wanted clarification on whether it was okay to just straight up post it in WIP or mostly finished form to the Music subforum for feedback from the general MLR community, or whether we should just PM other people to ask for advice.

Good question. I'd say it's okay to post some WIPs here, but don't spam it everywhere. If you want specific feedback, the MLR skypchat is a great place to start.

It might even bee good to have a thread dedicated to RMWV WIPs. Thoughts?

I think that'd be a great idea. Also there's a skype chat? How do I get in on that :P

A Remix War V WIP thread sounds like both a good and annoying idea. Not trying to justify that opinion. That's just my initial emotional reaction.

I think it would be good to keep the RMW WIP discussion in one place, but I feel like too many people would be posting too often about different things in it.

Alright, well, again RMWV is for the musicians, and if they need a place to get feedback for improvement then we should give it to them.

But...

Don't forget, guys, there's the IRC

Arguing which is superior out of #bronymusic or the Official MLR Skype is like deciding whether horse excrement from a male or female horse smells better.

We weren't arguing...

Anyway, people are going to go where they usually go. If the need for a thread arises, then we can make one then. Until then, we have plenty of resources.

Hm... So, my sinister planning has given me yet another idea!

Remix two songs, one made by a brony and one made by a non-brony, in the same track, like a remix mashup of sorts... Sort of like the entry from the first Remix War that combined Skrillex with Alex S...

I don't quite know how to respond to that, so I'm just going to get back to planning my remixceptionception.

Pf, DerpyGrooves made mashups of brony songs and non-brony songs before it was cool.

Are we allowed to collab with people not participating in this competition themselves? What about with bronies who are musicians, but do not produce music?

Well, I think by definition, they're participating :p. But I don't think it requires the other person to have a remix as well.

And I'm pretty sure having someone provide you with vocals or an instrumental recording is fine as well.

Are we permitted to remix multiple songs in one track? I'm not talking about a standard DJ 'mash two tracks together' kind of remix, I mean in what I'm working on, I have two tracks that will be contributing to the final product (it's a rock song, if that helps). Is that cool?

My guess would be yes, as long as at least one of said songs is made by a brony. Of course, I'm probably saying this because I'm doing the same thing
