REMIX. WAR. V.

Alright, time to get baking started! I can finally participate in a remix war!

Also, as a side note, is there something I'm missing, or was there a reason that the quoted guidelines said round four instead of five?

hahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahhahahahahhaha no

more maturely: it's more about the participation, and you really should make a track -in- the month alotted... not that submission speed counts either; in any case, making more music should "up your personal stats".

I'm pretty excited about this. I should probably remix a song by someone I don't know yet. I'm low on friends in the brony scene. Especially the brony music scene.

Some answers to your questions:

We'd like you to use box.com or minus.com so we can easily download your music, and also easily preview it too. The trouble with SoundCloud is the download limit, and making it viewable to specific people is more trouble than it's worth. Dropbox autoplays, and so does Drive, and that's a serious pain when checking for content and making sure music doesn't destroy our hearing when you have 6 tracks open at the same time trying to save some time.

Sorry if you don't like the challenge theme! But that's the thing, there is no challenge theme this round, there's far too many people for that to even be an option. The premise of this is identical to the first round, we're merely making fun of the whole event by saying 'let me fix your music.'

colortwelve wrote:Question.

What if I wanted to remix a non-brony vocal song (which is a remix, just to preserve the remixception), ponify the lyrics, and switch out the genre? Would that be allowed?

The FAQ explains clearly that the point of this challenge is to remix another artist's song from this community.

Singularity wrote:Err, is there a track length limit? Or is there a themed entry? Also define drug references? Like, how subtile can they be? I would appreciete it if someone answered my questions, since I just want to make it clear to me what I can and can not do.

Please don't go above 7 or 8 minutes, that's inconsiderate of the viewers and other people wanting for their track to be heard in the sync party.

It would be cool if we had longer than a week to do this, for those of us who can't just drop everything to, you know, work on the arrangement.

Oh well. Good luck, Electronic musicians, it's your contest.

We have longer than a week, and it's not just for electronic musicians. Think of Makkon's remix of For The New Lunar Republic. That was for the Remix War.

Can we remix collabs by ourselves or do we have to collab in order to remix a collab?

Umm... I have a question.
Some of the musicians in the community have never-to-be-finished-WIPs, but were uploaded to soundcloud, YT, etc.

Is it okay if I remix those instead?
