Sunday is a bad idea for everyone involved.

10 September.

On what site should we put up our submissions?

Upload them to YouTube for the official playlist and Synchtube party, and to some file-sharing site (Mediafire, Soundcloud, Dropbox, Box.com, etc.) for direct download and to be put in the official compilation. Once that's done, register/submit in 'Events' under the site banner.

I can see Sunday being a problem for a lot of people, but if we do it early enough, it should work for everyone just fine, right?

Otherwise, with school going on, it might be impossible to pick a time that will work for everyone, unfortunately.

I second this notion.

It keeps things on a saturday and it ends the remix war before Season 2 starts.

Okay, so it turns out the 10 September thing was suggested on the first page. Remind me, what was the reason for changing it?

Quick question: the rules say that when we upload to youtube we have to mark it as unlisted or whatever, witch makes me think you don't want people hearing our remixes before the deadline. Is this the case? Or is it okay to show some people to get feed back on our songs?

It's okay to show some people. I'd suggest keeping it unlisted and just linking it to people you want to show it to.

The general idea is that the Remix War is also a source of entirely fresh music released to the Brony community. Otherwise, why not just use something you've made and published a few months ago?

I have a question actually:

Some of the bronies here compose classical pieces, would a variation, concert pharaphase, sonata, etc. count as a remix?

As long as it uses melody, rhythm, form etc from someone else's piece, then it's fine! (Although, best to double-check with the head honchos before taking my word for it!)

I basically just arrange people's stuff, rather than remix them, so that counts for sure!

I'd like to try producing a track or two to submit. I have an idea for the emulation challenge, but the rather small number of tracks I've publicly released are in a number of different styles, and none of them as of yet have any relation to pony, so my contribution might be a surprise emulation as I don't really think the artist I have in mind will have much at all to work with (plus he's already paired with someone else, and considering the quality of his work I wouldn't expect him to have enough time for a second pairing). I'll get in touch with him and let him know anyways, to give him the option to emulate me back if he still really wants to. In addition to having a shot at the challenge, I might make another general remix.

Looking forward to hearing what comes of this remix war, best of luck to everyone entering! :)

Question. Am I allowed to submit more than one emulation of the same person?

Sorry for being so distracted, just about everything that can go wrong with work and my car is going wrong. I haven't even been able to shower for 3 days!

I vote 17th, but that's mainly because I have collabs with Circuit and Art that I doubt we'll be able to finish by the 10th.

(also the whole remix war and season 2 premiere at the same time thing sounds awesome)
