Vinyl Scratch FL Studio Skin

Postby Codeum » 08 Aug 2012 22:40

I doubt I'll ever finish this and it's complete enough so I thought I'd share it with you. I may do another for another pony in the future, but it depends on how much you guys like this one.
I've also got a chrysalis skin that's about as finished but I lost it in a system crash...

Interesting. These look pretty nice, too bad I'm boring and prefer the vanilla FL skin

I like it, though it would be nice if the red still was there to indicate on the mixer when you're clipping And was highlighted a little better

Well the red is in the selected channel big meter, and things like clipping are pretty obvious even without the red. you can visually see if a channel is too loud and probably hear the distortion too :P

I apologize for the chrysalis one being lackluster in some areas. I lost interest in it pretty quickly for some reason.

So I really love the both of them, but I am having troubles gettin Vinyl's in. No trouble however with Chrysalis. Any hints?

Well the vinyl one is for fl 10 and it has two folders in it. one with the skin and the other with the wallpapers. only put the skin folder in the skin directory.

No one gives a shit about clipping now, anyway. Going from a large portion of music I hear both in and out of the community.

Actually it is.

Shreddie Mercury recently won a competition on Beatport, namely the Spectrum Remix Compo. his submission has clipping issues as well as phasing issues.
Flux Pavillion recently admitted to 'liking clipping' within Cubase, and admitted to regularly leaving things going well into the red in his mixes.
I've encountered many producers within the community who purposefully leave their wobbles go into the red because it 'makes them harder'.

I could go on.

Amazing skins!

And in terms of clipping, if the producer intends for there to be clipping, then it is an effect, not an issue. But it's not a very good effect, imo.

quick question, and this refers to one of 5COPY's posts, but

is it possible for the mixer tracks to have the "red" clip color as white? For one, it keeps with the color scheme, and it's noticable against the blue meter color
